Meet our Proistamenos!

The Rev. Father George Kolios was born and raised in Athens, Greece where he received his Bachelor degree in Theology from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He continued his studies obtaining a second Bachelor degree in Letter Christian and Classical - this time from Salesian Pontifical University of Rome, Italy. Upon his return to Athens, Father George went on to receive his Master’s degree in Christian Pedagogic from Aristotle University in 2008 and later completed a doctoral research study in Oratory, as well as a seminary in the Ecumenical Relations, at the Catholic Institute of Paris.

His educational studies, led Father to becoming personal Secretary for the Chancellor’s Office of the Holy Archdiocese of Athens in 2009 where he remained for three years.  From there, he went on to Holy Synod of the Church of Greece where he took a position as personal Secretary for the Office of the Chief Secretary His Grace Bishop Gabriel of Deavlia.

Father George moved to the United States, in 2013, where joined the administrative staff of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America on East 79th Street in New York. On March 27, 2016, he was ordained to the Holy Priesthood by His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios and assigned as presiding Priest to our Church, while continuing to work in the administration offices of the Archdiocese.

On a more personal note, Father George met and married Presvytera, Ivana Pecic, in 2011. They are proud parents of a lovely son, David Anthony, who constantly keeps them busy and always smiling.
